eViva runs short oral vivas at scale, on the devices your school already owns. Restore confidence in written work without losing your week to interviews.
An essay arrives polished, fluent, and three reading-ages above what the pupil produces in class. You suspect AI misuse. You can’t prove. You mark it anyway.
When everyone’s writing looks the same, the pupil who wrote their own loses the credit for it. Grade boundaries drift. Trust quietly erodes.
An oral viva is the obvious answer. One teacher, a hundred pupils, ten minutes each. Doing it properly costs your week. Most schools do it badly or not at all.
You set the questions once. The class records on their own devices in fixed prep and record windows. You get back the same evidence a moderator wants - and so does the head of department who has to sign off the grade.
Type up to five prompts per student, set the preparation and recording time for each, and optionally add an image or screenshot for the student to reference.
Students receive a unique link to their personal eViva. Nothing to instal, no extra passwords. They check their camera and microphone and start recording directly from their browser.
Fixed preparation time, then the recording starts immediately. Tabs are monitored and submissions are timestamped. If a student wanders, evidence is collected.
One folder per assignment, one file per student per question, named the way you named them. Student recordings are handed directly over to their teacher, they are never kept by us.
Nothing to learn, nothing to install. A viva from every pupil, in the time it would have taken to do one.
Fixed prep and record windows. Absentees get the same windows when they return. The viva you give in March is the viva you give in June.
Chromebook, iPad, staff laptop, shared PC. One link, Google sign-in, nothing to install.
Your Drive, your folders, your naming. Recordings are MP4 audio-video, one per question, ready for moderation.
See who is mid-recording, who has submitted, and who has drifted off-tab, without looking over thirty shoulders.
Attach a photo, a diagram, or a passage to a question. Students see it during prep and record, not before.
Every viva comes with a CSV of who submitted, when, on which device, and how long each recording ran. Moderator-ready, governor-ready, awarding-body-ready.
We don't claim to proctor and we don't pretend to be an AI detector. We give you the evidence you need for confidence in what matters; student learning and comprehension.
We set you up in a twenty-minute call, run alongside your first viva, and hand you the recordings at the end. Then you decide whether it's worth a department, a year group, or a school.
Current pilots: secondary schools in the UK, Ireland, and international British schools. Sixth-form colleges and MATs welcome.
